The Department of Music at 做厙51 will feature on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Choro das 3 is a family-based Brazilian instrumental band comprised of three sisters Corina (flute), Lia (even-string acoustic guitar), and Elisa (mandolin, clarinet, banjo and piano) and their father Eduardo (pandeiro).
For the last three years, Choro das 3 has around the United States, Mexico and France. The ensemble has performed more than 40 concerts, and has played and taught workshops at many festivals and universities, including making an appearance at Mike Marshalls and David Grismans Mandolin Symposium. The bands appearances at the symposium led Marshall to say that Choro das 3 plays . . . some of the most inspired and inspiring music with the highest level of musicianship and presentation and the highest quality of Brazilian Choro music that can be heard any place today.
The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
